Here is what you get when you click GodMode..

-Onward Securing User Access Control (UAC)

Doing these simple steps will add Password Prompting to ANYTHING being Changed or Installed on an alert users Computer System, stopping most any Malware or Virus.

Many Websites love installing crap that steals / Hijacks your address book and then use YOUR Email pop account to Spam their Viagra or whatever crap they are pushing,. Or worse, slow your connection to a crawl. That will get your ISP to shut your Net down if Spamming from your email pop account or, they can even destroy your system.

This Quick (6min) Walk-Thru of HOWTO secure your Windows 'User Access Control' (UAC) from Viruses and Malware installing CRAP without your Knowledge is a big effort in stopping Jerks who get off on doing malicious @#&@*!@!!!

MAKING WINDOWS UAC MORE SECURE

In this tutorial, you learn how to beef up the UAC security by making it ask for a password instead of just 'yes/no'. While this is more of a nuisance than UAC already is, this will give you more security in the end. And also, you a little something extra that you might want to know as well. And during the video, you don't see the UAC prompts like you should. For some reason the recorder doesn't capture that.

This tutorial does not show you how to disable UAC, though it is fairly easy to do it. Just reverse it!

This works for:

Windows 7 Professional

Windows 7 Ultimate

Windows 7 Enterprise

Does not work for:

Windows 7 Home

To give you an Idea of How Easy it is for a Malicious Site Owner to grab your REAL IP and Probe it for holes, I'll give you the brief outline.

The most common way is.. They create a “ShortURL” commonly Bitly, TinyURL etc.. That short URL points to THEIR server first which contains a blank screen HTML with a PHP script inside that snags your real IP, email address, browser type and whatever else it can without setting off any alarms. It then logs it to a folder on their server for later. 10's of 1000's can be harvested in a day.

Then the PHP redirects you to the main site they innocently advertised as if nothing happened. The quick STOP OVER was behind the scenes. After a day or so... They grab all those Logged REAL IPs and load them into a Sniffer and it probes through them all for open shares, ports etc. And you'd not believe how many ways there are to get at your Goodies!

Here's some excellent addons I use within Firefox that prevents that.

https://adblockplus.org/en/firefox

http://www.ghostery.com/

http://noscript.net/

Those AddOns Not ONLY alerting to harmful Scripts but..

NO MORE Youtube Commercials or Banners Anywhere EVER!

Unless you WhiteList that Domain within the AddOn
VPN

Another great tip!

And.. Virtual Private Network (VPN). Just Google "Free VPN for answers to that.

I use https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/ $6.95/mo

A VPN will Mask your Real IP and you can appear from most anywhere. Remember all those warning about using Torrents and ISPs ptentially cancelling you? Well, this will stop that from Happening! Torrent 24/7 so long as you're on the VPN.

Another great tip for those with Dynamic (changing) IPs is www.no-ip.com. You can create a C-Name and that will never change no matter what your IP changes to. It will always come to your C-Name, FTP, or Webserver..

NEXT MUST TIP!

Universal Plug n' Play Support Here

Also, Disabling Administrative Shares is ALWAYS a Good Idea!

For (Vista/Windows7)

Click Start—>Run type regedit click ok (Or, Hold Windows Start Key and "R" Key to Open)

For vista users Enter your UAC credentials to continue.

Open the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE branch.

Open the SYSTEM branch.

Open the CurrentControlSet branch.

Open the Services branch.

Open the LanmanServer branch.

Select the Parameters branch.

Select Edit, New, DWORD (32-bit) Value. Vista & Windows 7 adds a new value to the Parameters key (If you have the key just check for correct value).

Type AutoShareWks and press Enter. (You can leave this setting with its default value of 0.)

Restart Windows  to put the new setting into effect.

That about covers it! I would also recommend making sure your WIreless Router Admin page usually http://192.168.0.1 has the default password changed. I can gain access to at least 20 computers in 10minutes using AngryIP harvesting IPs and then looking up the Router's default login pass that they never changed. BE SURE and add security on your wireless as well!

FYI: I offer remote setup and repair as well. You watch while I work and explain it to you on the phone.
