Today Iv'e decided to switch up my usual stories about herbal/alternative remedies to the challenges I personally face and others through the media. Iv'e seen a lot of stories hear on beforeitsnews about Beyonce and her alter ego Sasha Fierce so I know this isn't new news to most of you but overall this news is appalling! What has the media industry come to. It just saddens me. I'm a retro lover and oldies music fanatic...that's pretty much all I listen to although occasionally my ears burst out into the modern world and absorb present day music. I don't have an ipod, a fancy cell phones, or a T.V. but I do own a computer, radio, and a wondering mind and fingers that move so at a click of a button I can listen to about anything I desire thanks to modern technology and the computer. So, getting to the point for a while I started listening to modern music. I actually started to enjoy most of the catchy and somewhat upbeat tunes and that would include Beyonce's music as well. I don't like bashing others especially on the internet but it's quite obvious the satanic hints not just Beyonce AKA Sasha Fierce or others put in their music videos and on stage.
I know the media has effected me tremendously and still does today. I try to stray away from most of the media's promotions because most of it ends in no good. So let me share my past encounters with media "mind control." Their was once a young woman who was a rock n' roll fanatic....and when I mean fanatic I mean CRAZY for rock n' roll. Her entire life would be absorbed by either listening to rock n' roll or reading about it. She was in love with it. She even slacked on her health and grades just for this wonderful thing called rock n' roll. Everyday she learned about different bands such as Motley Crue and The Scorpians. She would listen to her life time favorite band since she was four years old: Van Halen. All these musicians I have to admit have incredible talent but the thing is they also have satanic songs.
Motley Crue: Wild Side:
Kneel down ye sinners, to
Streetwise religion
Greed's been crowned the new King
Hollywood dream teens
Yesterday's trash queens
Save the blessings for the final ring-
AMEN
Wild side
I carry my crucifix
Under my deathlist
Forward my mail to me in hell
Liars and the martyrs
Lost faith in The Father
Long lost in the wishing well
Wild side
Fallen Angels
So fast to kill
Thy kingdom come on the wild side
Our father
Who ain't in heaven
Be thy name on the wild side Holy Mary
Mother may I
Pray for us on the wild side
Wild side. Wild side
Name dropping no-names
Glamorize cocaine
Puppets with strings of gold
East L.A. at midnight
Papa won't be home tonight
Found dead with his best friend's wife
Wild side
Fatal strikes
We lie on the wild side
No escape
Murder rape
Doing time on the wild side
A baby cries
A cop dies
A day's pay on the wild side
Wild side, wild side
Tragic life on the wild side
Wild side, wild side
Kickin' ass on the wild side
Those are literally the most sad, satanic, and bluntest lyrics I have ever encountered in an oldies type band. Yes, I used to blast this music in my room...I honestly didn't know all the lyrics but that's not a good excuse. I knew it was bad from the start but my mind and heart wern't in the right place so let's fast forward a year later...
Her family was very religious and the kindest people she ever knew. They decided to embark on visiting a Monastery for more religious direction and guess who had a college English paper to write on someone who inspires them...muah. I decided to tag along with my family members and interview a monk on his life and daily duties. I thought it would be interesting and plus I would get to visit somewhere I had never been before. Plus, the family members I was going with I really liked spending time with. So when we got to the monastery we stayed in our rooms, unpacked our bags, and went to Vespers (which is a late service). It was nothing I had ever experienced before and I didn't understand most of what they were doing at the time...and how it benefited them and others. Later the next day one of my family members and I went to talk to a monk that agreed to be interviewed for one of my English papers. I sat and listened to his amazing story...it was life changing. I asked him a question that was bothering me for some time. To sum it up I pretty much told him how I love rock n' roll music and especially the band Van Halen but some of the songs especially Runnin' With The Devil made me feel really bad for listening to it and what should I do. I mean this was one of my favorite bands since I was a kid...how could I just stop listening to it. He explained some things to me and helped me understand why it isn't wise to listen to the song. I have to admit after talking to him and asking that question I felt very strong in my faith and determined to never listen to that song again. Yeah...right when I got home not even realizing what I was doing I turned on a Van Halen album and when the song Runnin' With The Devil came on I started to get pumped up and stared singing along after about a minute I freaked out and shut it off...what was I thinking! I know it sounds crazy but I felt tempted to listen to it. Plus, some of the rock songs I was listening to made me somewhat of an angry and not so sweet individual. The messages they send through the media especially music can inspire others to act out what their trying to promote through their music. You don't hear a lot of music these days that send good messages and this is coming from a young woman who is a music fanatic. I'm not bashing all music but for example look at this:
"Get Lucky"
(feat. Pharrell Williams & Nile Rodgers)
Like the legend of the phoenix
All ends with beginnings
What keeps the planet spinning (uh)
The force of love beginning
(Look)
We've come too far to give up who we are
So let's raise the bar and our cups to the stars
She's up all night 'til the sun
I'm up all night to get some
She's up all night for good fun
I'm up all night to get lucky
We're up all night 'til the sun
We're up all night to get some
We're up all night for good fun
We're up all night to get lucky
The present has no ribbon
Your gift keeps on giving,
What is this I'm feeling?
If you wanna leave I'm ready (ah)
We've come too far to give up who we are
So let's raise the bar and our cups to the stars
She's up all night 'til the sun
I'm up all night to get some
She's up all night for good fun
I'm up all night to get lucky
We're up all night 'til the sun
We're up all night to get some
We're up all night for good fun
We're up all night to get lucky
(We're up all night to get (together)
We're up all night to get (let's get funked again)
We're up all night to get funky
We're up all night to get lucky)
(We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky)
We've (we're up all night to get lucky)
Come too far (we're up all night to get lucky)
To give up (we're up all night to get lucky)
Who we are (we're up all night to get lucky)
So let's (we're up all night to get lucky)
Raise the bar (we're up all night to get lucky)
And our cups (we're up all night to get lucky)
To the stars (we're up all night to get lucky)
She's up all night 'til the sun
I'm up all night to get some
She's up all night for good fun
I'm up all night to get lucky
We're up all night 'til the sun
We're up all night to get some
We're up all night for good fun
We're up all night to get lucky
(I shortened it because it was so repetitive)
Yes, it's catchy and upbeat but seriously what is this teaching others. To get drunk, be easy, and let a man not to take you seriously. NO THANK YOU. It's your life...it's your choice...their your ears. Iv'e shared my story and it maybe silly to you but I hope you individuals that have read it can take a little time to think about what your really listening to and parents please don't let your children absorb this trash. They will learn nothing valuable from this kind of music. Instead, why don't you listen to a tune called Spirit In The Sky by: Norman Greenbaum that was released in 1969 and went straight to the top of the music charts and was #1 in the U.K.
When I die and they lay me to rest
Gonna go to the place that's the best
When I lay me down to die
Goin' up to the spirit in the sky
Goin' up to the spirit in the sky
That's where I'm gonna go when I die
When I die and they lay me to rest
Gonna go to the place that's the best
Prepare yourself, you know it's a must
Gotta have a friend in Jesus
So you know that when you die
He's gonna recommend you to the spirit in the sky
Gonna recommend you to the spirit in the sky
That's where you're gonna go when you die
When you die and they lay you to rest
You're gonna go to the place that's the best
Never been a sinner, I never sinned
I got a friend in Jesus
So you know that when I die
He's gonna set me up with the spirit in the sky
Oh, set me up with the spirit in the sky
That's where I'm gonna go when I die
When I die and they lay me to rest
I'm gonna go to the place that's the best
Go to the place that's the best
A lot better than the Motley Crue song above!
