The Denver Broncos cheerleaders feed into the American Federal system of national network sideline reporters like Simeon Wolverines basketball feeds into the Illinois Fighting Illini. Or Medill University feeds into The Sports Bank. We’re talking pipeline!
And why are we talking about Denver Broncos cheerleaders? Well, we have two weeks now of hype and non-stories becoming stories until the Super Bowl starts. And since America is dysfunctionally obsessed with anything and everything NFL, we’re going to be hurting with stuff to talk about over 14 days. And I’m not sure anyone else will cover this hard-hitting piece of journalism that his Denver Broncos cheerleaders turned national network sideline reporters.
There are some actual women doing actual fantastic work in the national network sideline reporting field. Tracy Wolfson, Michelle Tafoya, Doris Burke are all pretty solid. Alex Flanagan does good work. Then there are the cheerleaders with microphones. It’s amazing how many of these women are former bikini models, cheerleaders and beauty pageant competitors. Which of course is a zillion times more important for the field of television broadcasting than having a degree from Medill or any other prestigious journalism school #sarcasm
To be a member of the Denver Broncos cheerleaders is to play for the AA affiliate of big league national sports media. At least in sideline reporting. List of Denver Broncos cheerleaders turned sideline reporters include (click where linked for more photos and biographical information:
Lauren Gardner of CBS Sports
Does a lot of college football and college basketball. Unfortunately, CBSSN is the lowest rated of all the cable sports networks. It’s also in the fewest homes, by a wide margin of all the cable sports networks. Even Fox Sports 1 gets better ratings. Readers of this site know Gardner from the Notre Dame vs Air Force broadcast.
Michelle Beisner of NFL Network
In the spirit of professionalism, journalistic integrity and gender relations, I’m going to refrain from commenting on any of the physical attributes of any of the former Denver Broncos cheerleaders. The pictures chosen are from their team photo shoots and calendar shoots, so if you have issues with professionalism conveyed here, take it up with the Broncos or NEWSFLASH take it up with the women who pose for these pics, DON’T Tweet at me or comment below. I will say though that these women, in the words of Jerry Seinfeld, “possess the qualities coveted by the superficial man.”
Beisner, pictured in the intro, and again above, because hey why not?, got engaged to Fox Sports play-by-play commentator Joe Buck in August 2013. So it’s quite convenient and serendipitously perfect that Beisner found her deep meaningful soul mate…in the same exact man with the most connections possible in her industry.
The search engines go crazy, and I mean crazy for Herlocker every 4th of July when she hosts the Coney Island hot dog eating content. And then the rest of the year everyone forgets who she is. She has a real nice tramp stamp by the way. Not as nice as the lower back ink of Jenn Brown, but close.
So who’s next? Maybe Patricia Reimann is the next member of the Denver Broncos cheerleaders to go into this field. Reimann is the infamous “butt shot” cheerleader (GIF and video) from the opening Thursday night game in September. Remember her? That incident just owned the search engines for the next 3-4 days afterward. Seriously owned.
So go Denver Broncos cheerleaders! ESPN, NBC SN, CBS SN, MLB NET, ETC. await you next!
