In the previous blog Inside The Belly of The Propaganda Beast, an opportunity was presented for the reader to catch a glimpse of opinions about Peltier held within LPDOC by "directors, staff, and even an attorney.

Below is another insider opinion excerpted from an interview with Vernon Bellecourt, only this is an AIM insider opinion, note in particular Vernon's expressed opinion that Peltier "held a lot responsibility for what happened to Anna Mae."

That he thought of Dave Hill and Peltier as "idiots" and "psychopaths".

Following the excerpt are a few examples of Peltier's own take on the events at Jumping Bull as found in the Just For The Sake of Discussion blogs of October last year. Note Peltier's assertion that Williams and Coler were coming to arrest him when they didn't even know he was there,  which was the singular PELTIER motive for what transpired.

"Janice brought up Dennis Banks and how badly she thought he had conducted the CBC interview and Vernon agreed, stating, “Banks comes out with totally ridiculous things that are unbelievable.” Janice and I then discussed how, even from his demeanor, it was obvious that ‘the word’ to kill Aquash had come from Banks, at which point Vernon bemoaned how Banks put them “in impossible positions of having to back and justify situations like this” because he was “influenced by idiots and psychopaths like David Hill and Peltier.” Vernon continued, claiming that the Tent City group hadn’t been anything to do with AIM but after the shoot-out, 
because of their association with Banks, AIM had had to support therm Vern said Peltier “had never been anything” and Janice concurred, Vernon ruing that he had “wasted 25-years” supporting him and how Peltier had become synonymous with AIM.

Both Vernon and Janice agreed that Peltier held a lot of responsibility for what happened to Anna Mae and they believed that she would still be alive had it not been for him."

Leonard Peltier:

A: I’M SAYING THIS, THAT THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED.
If they did, it doesn’t matter how illegal they have obtained it.
But they don’t know what happened. They don’t know who killed those
agents or whatever unless I’m wrong and it was done by one of their own.
BUT I DON’T THINK THAT’S HAPPENED. ( caps mine)

A: There weren’t that many informants, there wasn’t. No, I don’t believe
 that either because if there was they would have used them at the trial.
That’s just a tactic the FBI uses, has been a tactic that they have used
for years and years and years to create informants that do not exist so
they can legally, a judge will go along and help them protect materials
they don’t want to turn over that’s detrimental to them.

When asked about Canada he has this to say….
“I’d been in and out of Canada a half dozen times already. This is why this shit about me, this stuff about me fleeing into Canada and using that as a reason for conviction, fleeing to Canada and all this shit, that’s not true. I’d been in and out of Canada a half dozen times even before that house was shot,back and forth, back and forth. They’re full of shit. I wasn’t running to Canada JUST TO HIDE (caps mine-an admission that he did go to Canada to hide). I SPENT MOST OF MY TIME IN THE UNITED STATES. I went into Canada, if  I really wanted to split I could have gotten away, way back into the northwest territory.”

 

In part three of "Discussion" Peltier talks about “I can’t tell you actions I did to hold back those forces from capturing my people?” You know how much gunfire I laid  out”Especially in this system, I can’t tell the system I was shooting at their police officers that were trying to arrest me. They’ll hold that against me. I’VE GOT BE CAREFUL ABOUT THAT STUFF. ( Caps mine)

"Capturing my people"? Who exactly would that be-what people and what for? What Peltier should have said was "capturing me".
