Staff predictions for tonight’s Redskins vs. Eagles game
In just about four-and-a-half hours from now, the Washington Redskins will begin their defense of the 2012 NFC East title and begin regular season play for the 2013 season.
Members of the RedskinsGab staff has provided their predictions for tonight’s matchup, with a quick analysis of how things will shake down tonight:
Rajan Nanavati: “I think Robert Griffin III comes out amped up more than he’s ever been in his life, but has an up-and-down first half as he works off the rust and the nerves after the long layoff. But in the 2nd half, Griffin hits one of the receivers with a long touchdown pass — I’m thinking he connects with Aldrick Robinson for 50+ yards — and Michael Vick commits a critical turnover, sealing a Redskins win.”
Prediction: Redskins win, 23-17
Patrick Rice: “Predicting a week 1 game is never easy, especially when the opposing team is a complete unknown. I believe the Eagles will ‘get theirs.’ They have too many weapons to be held down for long periods of time. Take into consideration Washington’s rookie secondary and you have to envision a few Eagles scoring opportunities. Still, I like the Burgundy and Gold. Too many weapons against a suspect Eagles Defense. Oh, and did I mention the return of RGIII? Heed my advice Eagles fans: Never doubt #10.”
Prediction: Redskins pull away late 34-20.
