CA Cops Shoot 13 Yr-Old Multiple Times (Video)

By Susan Duclos
Sheriff's deputies from Nothern California shot and killed a 13 year-old boy, Andy Lopez, in possession of a toy AK-47 gun after demanding he drop it and when he didn't they opened fire, shooting the teen multiple times. It is unclear whether the child was pointing the weapon at the police or not.
A neighbor, Brian Zastrow told the Santa Rosa Press Democrat that he heard 7 shots fired.
First, I heard a single siren and within seconds I heard seven shots go off, sounded like a nail gun, is what I thought it was," he said.

The boy fell to the ground on top of the rifle, according to O'Leary. He said the deputies ordered him to move away before approaching him and putting him in handcuffs.

They began administering first aid and called for paramedics, who pronounced him dead at the scene. Deputies also found a plastic handgun in the boy's waistband, O'Leary said. The deputies, who have not been identified, have been placed on administrative leave, which is standard after a shooting, O'Leary said.

Reading forums and comments there are two schools of thought in the debates being seen. One that the cops were trigger happy and the amount of shots fired is overkill. The other that the kid could very well have been carrying a real weapon, evidenced by the recent school shooting in Nevada where the shooter was a 12 year-old child.
What isn't in debate is how times have changed..... as the photo found on Facebook clearly shows.
