Typhoon Haiyan is about to hit Vietnam and China. Meanwhile, another disturbance could affect the Philippines by the middle of the week. Not good! The big story over the past week has been Super Typhoon Haiyan as it pushed into the Philippines on November 8.

The storm was 1,120 miles with sustained winds of more than 180 mph, which is stronger than a Category 5 hurricane. The storm surge was as high as two stories.

We are still receiving information regarding damages and possible deaths from Super Typhoon Haiyan.

From a meteorological perspective, Haiyan is no doubt the most extraordinary storm I have seen in satellite images, I could not remember a scarier-looking storm.

Haiyan will still produce heavy rains, gusty winds, and flash flooding as it pushes off to the north.

The biggest issues that have come with Haiyan are the heavy rains, flash flooding, and strong winds.

Authorities evacuated more than 800,000 people, but with the wind strength and storm surge, even strong buildings were no match for the typhoon.

To help aid those victims of the typhoon, Natural News donated $10,000 to the Tzu Chi Foundation, which uses that money to buy and deliver emergency supplies directly to victims of the hurricane. If you would like to join in making a donation, visit www.us.tzuchi.org

The Tzu Chi Foundation is preparing relief effort for the victims of Haiyan, the most devastating typhoon ever to hit the Philippines. It killed more than 10,000 people. Worst hit were the cities of Tacloban and Ormoc in Leyte province and Guiua island in Samar province.

Tzu Chi members in the country are closely following events every day and have begun their assessment of what aid needed. They are collecting information from many quarters in order to understand better the disaster. Over the Internet, volunteers in every area are praying that the victims of Haiyan can return to their normal life as soon as possible and overcome their difficulties.
